This prompt does the arithmetic and the cross-checking, then stops short of the decision. It takes the school's own requirement list, the student's completed and in-progress courses, and any local rules on substitutions or transfer credit, and returns a requirement-by-requirement status: met, in progress, short, or unclear.
Unclear is the point of the tool. A transfer course with a different title, one semester of a year-long sequence, a credit earned in summer school under an older catalog: each comes back flagged with the specific question for the registrar rather than resolved by assumption.

Use initials or a case number, never names or student identification numbers, and strip anything from the transcript you would not paste into an email. The audit runs on course titles, terms, credits, and grades.
Have ready: the requirement sheet for the catalog year that applies to this student, the transcript including transfer work with the sending school's course titles and credit values, the current schedule, and your written rules on substitutions, waivers, and transfer credit.
The catalog year matters more than anything else here. A senior on an older requirement set, audited against the current sheet, produces a confident and wrong answer.
Where it fails: credit values in unfamiliar units, competency-based records, and out-of-country coursework, where the mapping is a policy decision rather than arithmetic. Those come back UNCLEAR by design.
Before anything reaches a student or a family, verify every line against the official record in your student information system. This is a worksheet for someone who can see the file, not a determination.
